New Patient Care Ward : London NW6

This 15 room ward adds quality patient care facilities to a private hospital in St John's Wood, London.

The ward is a vertical extension to an existing two storey building. The design deliberately avoids repeating the treatment of the existing building, and expresses the lightweight framed construction of the ward. Steel framed panels were used for the external walls, clad in copper sheet. The roof is also clad with copper. At the centre of the building is a reception and waiting area, flooded with light from a curved glazed roof.
