Docklands Medical Centre : London E14

Appointed as Architects and Cdm Coordinator, cfp's design for this £1.4 million multi-function Healthcare Centre near Canary Wharf involves the addition of two new storeys and a lateral extension to an existing building. The new elements were constructed using a lightweight metal framing system.

The proposal received huge local support, allowing planning permission to be given under 'delegated powers'. The external design reflects the existing building and adjacent properties, and introduces a horizontal emphasis to minimise visual impact. The completed building provides a much needed local GP service and other facilities, including a purpose designed Pharmacy, Dental Practice and Physiotherapy Suite.
